Certificates and diplomas

Our school allows students to prepare for the most prestigious official examinations in French. We are a certified center for the preparation of the DELF DALF exams in Switzerland.

Individuals holding a degree in the French language gain a great asset on the personal level as well as in the professional field.

The “Diplôme d’Etudes en Langue Française” (DELF) and the “Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française” (DALF) are organized in several levels corresponding to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). They are both monitored by the Minister of French education. Based on the learning of practical French, they are recognized worldwide and represent well appreciated degrees in the professional area.

The DELF and DALF test the linguistic, sociolinguistic and pragmatic knowledge of the user. These degrees are organized according to the four abilities of the CEFR: comprehension, expression, interaction and mediation.

The DELF comprises A1, A2, B1 and B2 levels. As for the DALF, it includes the most advanced levels: C1 and C2. The B2 level is sufficient to be eligible for Swiss Universities.

The TCF (“Test de Connaissance du Français”) allows non French speaking candidates to assess their knowledge of the French language. It gives the ranking of the candidate on the six-level scale of the CEFR (from A1 to C2).

Entrance examination for the University

Foreign students wishing to enter a university in the French speaking part of Switzerland are compelled to succeed in an entrance examination for admissions.

Our school prepares students for the French admission examination and for the French part of the ECUS examination (“Examen Complémentaire des Universités Suisses”) as well. In certain cases, succeeding in a B2 examination (like DELF B2) is sufficient to be accepted by the University. The applicant is then exempted from taking the French examination (except for some faculties).

Moreover, we willingly advise students in their choice of higher education and help them with the enrolment process for University.
